Churches Together ceilidh October 2016

Several parishioners joined Fr Charles at the recent Churches Together ceilidh, hosted by Emmanuel Church, and enjoyed a great evening of food, fun, confusion and embarrassment!

Yes, it’s true that we usually understand the concepts of clockwise vs anti-clockwise and left vs right – except, it would appear, during a ceilidh! Add a rather complicated clapping sequence to the routine and the result is total chaos but of the hilarious variety.

Before the “dancing” resumed after supper, Peter Harvey treated us to his rendition of John McCormack’s “The garden where the praties grow” – a rather apt choice, given our feast of baked potatoes and salad!

Peter Harvey sang 'Where the praties grow'.

Many thanks to our hosts at Emmanuel Church and also to Carole Hunt for ensuring a good turn-out from St Edmund’s.
