a brief HISTORY OF THE ST EDMUND’S CHURCH
It is a surprise to many people to discover the link between the Downside Benedictine Monastery, near Bristol and St Edmund’s church in Bungay. This article provides a brief explanation of that link. Equally interesting, but less surprising was the church’s adoption of the name St Edmund, King and Martyr, given his local connections and refusal to give up his faith in the face of personal danger. His story also makes a fascinating read.

HOSPITALS
Because of the Data Protection Act anyone in hospital (or their next of kin) must ask explicitly for a Roman Catholic priest to visit.
